Clinical Approach

Dr Langdon's approach is conservative and assessment-led: the right treatment for the right patient, at the right time.

Every plan is built around suitability, realistic outcomes and long-term skin health — not trends or pressure. Treatment only proceeds when Dr Langdon is satisfied it is clinically appropriate and the patient has realistic expectations.

Safety Philosophy

Clinical oversight includes suitability assessment, treatment planning and support for post-treatment concerns. Clear communication of risks, downtime and limitations is a core part of informed consent.

Consultations are carried out by Dr Langdon or a member of our team specialising in the relevant procedure, with all prescribing decisions and clinical oversight remaining her responsibility. Treatment will not proceed where clinical suitability is in question. Post-treatment follow-up and complication management are always available.

What Doctor-Led Means Here

  • Who consults: Consultations are conducted by Dr Langdon or a team member specialising in the relevant procedure; prescribing and clinical oversight sit with Dr Langdon
  • Who treats: Injectable treatments are performed by our GMC-registered doctors (including Dr Langdon), with overall clinical oversight by Dr Langdon as Medical Director
  • Prescribing responsibility: Prescription-only treatments are prescribed by our GMC-registered doctors, with overall clinical governance held by Dr Langdon as Medical Director
  • Complication management: Dr Langdon is available for post-treatment concerns and manages any complications directly, with clear escalation pathways in place

Safety and Consent

  • Consent approach: Written informed consent is obtained before every procedure, including clear explanation of risks, alternatives, expected outcomes and limitations
  • Cooling-off period: A minimum cooling-off period is offered between consultation and treatment so patients can make decisions without pressure
  • When we say no: Treatment is declined where clinical suitability is in question, expectations are unrealistic, or the patient's wellbeing would not be served
  • No same-day injectable treatments for new patients — a consultation must always come first

What We Won't Do
  • Treat without a proper medical assessment first
  • Recommend treatment where the risks outweigh the benefits for you
  • Over-treat or chase trends that don't serve your long-term appearance
  • Pressure you into additional treatments
  • Promise unrealistic results or guarantees

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about doctor-led aesthetic care, suitability assessment and how we approach patient safety.

A doctor-led clinic provides medical assessment, prescribing and clinical oversight by a GMC-registered doctor. That means your suitability for treatment, the choice of product or device, and the management of any complication all sit within a regulated medical framework. At Berkshire Aesthetics, all prescribing and clinical governance is held by Dr Selena Langdon as Medical Director.
Consultations are conducted by Dr Selena Langdon or a member of our clinical team specialising in the relevant procedure. All prescribing decisions and clinical oversight remain Dr Langdon’s responsibility as Medical Director. We do not offer same-day injectable treatments to new patients — a face-to-face consultation always comes first.
We are a CQC-registered clinic with a written consent process, a cooling-off period between consultation and treatment, clear escalation pathways for complications, and a no-pressure approach. Dr Langdon is a JCCP Ambassador and works internationally on CoolSculpting complication prevention. We will decline treatment where suitability is in question or expectations are unrealistic.
We will tell you honestly and explain why. Where appropriate we will suggest an alternative — a different treatment, a staged plan, or onward medical assessment. If nothing in our service is the right answer for you, we will say so. We do not treat patients we do not believe we can safely help.
Dr Langdon is a JCCP Ambassador supporting patient safety standards in UK medical aesthetics, and is involved in international education and advisory work on CoolSculpting complication prevention and management. She has been recognised as Aesthetic Doctor of the Year.
